Envision AI workshops are one part of the implementation effort for the Microsoft Responsible AI Standard. In this session, we aim to provide policymakers with a practical experience of how we think through responsible AI problems with our product teams. The session will be highly interactive and discussion-based, as we cover how Microsoft is evolving the mindset of our product teams to ask difficult questions and the rules that we have developed to enact our AI principles.
The panel will discuss the common responsibility of public and private sector to develop trustworthy and ethical AI. It will focus on the framework of the necessary AI rules to achieve an ecosystem of trust and excellence that will enable cooperation while respecting democracy and European values.

Dóra is a partner at CMS Budapest and CEE Managing Director. She also co-heads the Commercial Practice and the Competition, Technology, Media, Telecommunications (TMT), Life Sciences & Healthcare and Intellectual property (IP) practices in the Budapest office. Dóra is also head of the CEE privacy initiative.
Her major clients are TMT and pharma companies, foreign-owned commercial banks, and major joint ventures. Her areas of specialisation include cybersecurity, competition law, IP law, public procurement matters, general commercial contracts, corporate restructuring and M&A. Before joining CMS, Dóra spent over a decade in-house at the largest TMT company in the region.
Dóra is the Co-Chairman of the Regulatory Committee of the Hungarian AI Coalition and a member of the Hungarian Council of Copyright Experts. She is also the first and only lawyer to be a member of the co-regulatory committee between the local telecommunications’ regulatory authority and the Association of Hungarian Content Providers (established on 1 July 2011). She is also a member of the supervisory committee of UNICEF.
She is a regular speaker at key international conferences, including the World Economic Forum (Davos), the Mobile World Congress and ECTA.
Dóra was awarded ‘Europe-Best in TMT 2012’ at the Euromoney–Legal Media Group’s European Women in Business Law Awards and has been shortlisted in all subsequent years to date.

She is carrying out an implementation doctorate in the field of artificial intelligence in a political and administrative discipline. The thing she focuses the most on is an ethical approach to data processing – especially in situations where we do not have law regulations, which is very common for new technologies and machine learning. For many years she is associated with the IT industry – she gained professional experience as a Project, Product and Operations Manager in IT companies, including Microsoft, dealing in cloud solutions, research projects and security tests throughout Europe nad the USA. Academic lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Alžběta Krausová, Ph.D., LL.M. is a legal scholar at the Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Head of the Center for Innovations and Cyberlaw Research (CICeRo) project, a member of the Expert group on Liability and New Technologies at the European Commission, a member of OECD’s network of experts ONE AI, Chair of the Czech Republic’s AI Observatory & Forum, a founder and Chair of the SOLAIR Conference (Society, Law, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics), a member of the Working Group on Human Rights and Modern Technologies at the Government Council for Human Rights, an external lecturer at the Faculty of Informatics of the Czech Technical University and at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University in Prague, an executive editor of The Lawyer Quarterly, and a public speaker. Her research specializes on legal aspects of artificial intelligence, robotics, brain-computer interfaces, and merging technology with organic life.
Since 2017, she has contributed to formulation of future regulation of AI both on the international as well as the national level. She is the main author of Czech proposals for international regulation of AI submitted to UNCITRAL and UNIDROIT (2017), a co-author of the EU report Liability for Artificial Intelligence and other emerging digital technologies (2019), and a co-author of the non-paper of the Czech Republic Regulatory Framework for Artificial Intelligence in the European Union (2020). She is the main author of the Analysis of Legal and Ethical Aspects Related to Development of AI and Its Applications (2018) for the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and a co-author of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Czech Republic (2019).

For over 2 years, Tomas has been working as the director of the Digital Policies and International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, where he and his team cover the policies of the digital single market, innovative technologies and respective international affairs. The department’s mission is to support responsible digital transformation in Slovakia via cooperation between the public and private sector as well as academia and civil societies. The focus is on building and enhancing institutional framework aimed on research, development and responsible application of the top level digital technologies (incl. AI, HPC, Blockchain), promoting and helping to improve digital skills, supporting more women in ICT as well as dealing with ethical and socio-economical aspects related to digital transformation. In addition, legislative proposals like DGA, FFoD and AI related legal initiatives are being negotiating by his department with strong engagement also in lastly published DSA and DMA proposals. Tomas’s department is also acting as a secretariat to independent Permanent Commission on Ethics and Regulation of AI (CERAI), which outputs are being considered within public policies related to digital agenda.
